Mission Fair - Sunday, March 27, at 10:30 am in the gym Tony Twist (center) congratulating a graduate at TCM in Austria
Newbury Park First Christian Church is a compassionate, mission-minded body of believers. We aid in the support of fourteen missions. Tony Twist, the director of TCM (Training Christians for Ministry), will be speaking at the 5:00 pm Saturday service (March 26), and the 9:00 am Sunday service (March 27). Our own, Kevin and Dimi Kirk, are involved in the ministry of TCM in the Vienna Woods of Austria.
There will be no Sunday school that morning, so come and visit the displays of our fourteen missions in the Family Life Center after the Sunday service to learn how 12% of our general funds are building God's kingdom. People will be dressed to represent the diverse cultures, and food samples from the countries will be available for your enjoyment.
Be sure to visit the Missions page on our website each month as a different mission we support is featured. |
| GO - Mexico Mission Trip April 15-20, 2011 |
You can make a difference! Journey with us to El Porvenir, Mexico, a small village northeast of Ensenada, to help provide a loving, safe and healthy place for orphaned children. These children have been rescued from abusive, homeless, or neglected situations.
You don't have to know Spanish. You don't have to have construction skills. All you need is a willing heart and a desire to serve God and grow in your faith. You will enjoy camping and fellowship with other Christians, while shining the light of the love of God to the people of Mexico.
Cost is $175 which includes transportation, food, camping, construction costs and trip T-shirt. Cost for children under 10 accompanied by a parent is $25. Registration now open. |

Pastor Ken's Building Blog
|
There's more than one way to get water from a rock!
If you're a follower of Jesus, you probably have developed some habits in the way you relate to God. It could be that you heard a sermon, went to a conference, listened to a podcast or prayed, and you felt God ask you to do something that would stretch your faith. If you did what he asked, you probably had great results...

Joy From Jim |
|
Joy comes in a lot of packages. Sometimes it is a "people package." Sometimes it is a "God package." Sometimes it is a "written package" or a " spoken package."
So my simple and short first question is "where did your joy come from today?"
Joy came to me from the internet on a "child's view of God." So cute!
Joy came to me from a phone call sharing some really good news! Exciting!
My simple and short second question is "where did you share joy with someone today?"
Go lift a life by sharing some joy and together let's "build the church in all the world" by sharing joy with people we meet. Let's all be a "package of joy" for someone today. Thanks to all of you for being my "joy" in sooooo many ways.
Joyfully going to share some joy over lunch with my wife,
Pastor Jim
